Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For the Jalapeños

  • 12 pieces jalapeños fresh, halved and seeded

For Topping

  • 1 cup bread crumbs

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and membranes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until well blended.
  • Distribute the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half.
  • Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of each filled jalapeño.

Baking

  • Place the jalapeño poppers on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the tops are golden brown.

Serving

  • Allow the jalapeño poppers to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, wear gloves when handling jalapeños and adjust spiciness by choosing different varieties. Make them your own by adding cooked bacon or vegetables to the filling.
