  • ½ cup Chicken Broth liquid for cooking
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder additional flavor
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch thickener
  • 1 tbsp Water to dissolve cornstarch

Preparation

  • Begin by preparing the chicken, ensuring each piece is boneless and skinless. Patting the chicken dry with paper towels helps season it better. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  • In a bowl, combine the dried oregano with additional salt and black pepper and rub this mixture evenly over the chicken.
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a separate bowl and stir in minced garlic, zest from the lemons, and the lemon juice to create a fragrant mixture.

Cooking

  • Pour the garlic and butter mixture over the seasoned chicken in your slow cooker.
  • Add the chicken broth over the chicken and butter mixture.
  • Mix the cornstarch with water in a small bowl until smooth.
  • After cooking, remove the chicken and stir the cornstarch mixture into the remaining juices in the slow cooker to create a thicker sauce.
  • Slice or shred the chicken once cooked and return it to the slow cooker to soak in the sauce.
  • Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken in the lemon mixture for an hour for more intense flavor. Adjust the garlic based on your preference, and taste the sauce before serving to enhance flavor.
