Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Brush
  • Measuring Spoons

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 chicken breasts sliced into 4 thin fillets if large
  • olive oil or butter for brushing
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • garlic powder to taste

Coating Mixture

  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese preferably freshly grated
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs

Optional Topping

  • shredded cheese optional, for topping before serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Brush each with olive oil or melted butter.
  • Season both sides of the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a bowl, mix Parmesan cheese and seasoned breadcrumbs until well combined.
  • Press chicken pieces firmly into the Parmesan mixture to fully coat on all sides.
  • Place coated chicken onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  • Optional: Add shredded cheese during the last 2–3 minutes of baking to melt on top.
  • Let the chicken rest 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite side dish.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for better melting and flavor. Don’t skip the rest time before slicing — it keeps the chicken juicy.
