Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to a comfortable temperature suitable for baking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly incorporated.
  • Place the chicken thighs in a baking dish and drizzle with avocado oil or melted butter.
  • Sprinkle the spice mixture generously over the chicken thighs and rub the spices into the meat.

Cooking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and allow the chicken to cook until browned on the outside.
  • Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat chicken thighs dry before seasoning. Allow them to rest at room temperature for 15 minutes prior to cooking. For a crisper exterior, finish under the broiler for a couple of minutes.
