  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix flavorful seasoning
  • 1 packet au jus mix savory flavor base
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter adds richness and moisture
  • 3-5 pieces pepperoncini peppers adds mild heat and tang

Preparation

  • Ensure your boneless, skinless chicken breasts are thawed if previously frozen. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until fully liquefied.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes on one side until golden-brown.
  • Flip the chicken breasts and sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus mix evenly over them.
  • Add the pepperoncini peppers to the skillet, placing them around the chicken. Cover the skillet and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  • Check that the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 165°F using a meat thermometer.
  • Plate the chicken and spoon some of the remaining sauce from the skillet over the top before serving.

Notes

Serve Mississippi Chicken over rice, mashed potatoes, or a bed of greens for a lighter option. Leftovers can be transformed into sandwiches or paired with roasted vegetables.
