  • ½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese richness
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs binding
  • 1 large egg binding
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced flavor
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder flavor
  • ½ teaspoon paprika flavor
  • ½ teaspoon salt seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking
  • as needed burger buns and toppings of choice (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients on the counter for smoother mixing.
  • Finely chop your fresh spinach to ensure even distribution throughout the mixture.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into patties about ¾ to 1 inch thick.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a grill or skillet over medium heat.
  • Place each patty in the pan, leaving space between them to cook evenly.
  • Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on one side until golden-brown, then flip.
  • Cook for another 4 to 5 minutes on the other side, checking for doneness (internal temperature of 165°F).
  • Let the patties rest for a minute or two off the heat.
  • Prepare your burger buns and desired toppings while the patties rest.
  • Assemble your burgers with patties and toppings.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to maintain a tender texture in the patties. Letting the patties rest after cooking enhances moisture and flavor.
