Ingredients
  

The Creamy Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened

The Fresh Herbs

  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh dill optional, chopped

Flavor Boosters and Optional Add-Ins

  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt or more to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon zest optional, for brightness
  • red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Instructions
 

  • Let cream cheese and butter soften at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Finely chop parsley, chives, and dill (if using).
  • In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, butter, garlic, salt, and pepper until smooth. Fold in herbs and lemon zest.
  • Transfer mixture into a ramekin or shape into a round with plastic wrap. Chill for at least 2 hours.
  • Serve with crackers, bread, or vegetables. Also pairs beautifully with roasted meats or as a pizza topping.

Notes

Homemade Boursin lasts up to 1 week in the fridge. For a dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese and butter, plus nutritional yeast for depth. Freeze in small portions if needed, though texture may change slightly.
