Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until browned and tender, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to season the beef evenly.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Spoon half the beef mixture over. Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef.
In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Whisk until smooth, then pour evenly over the casserole.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Drizzle with melted butter for a golden finish.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with paprika for color, if desired.
Notes
Slice potatoes evenly and drain beef to avoid soggy layers. Let the casserole rest before cutting for best results. Great for meal prep or leftovers.
