Ingredients
  

Protein

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend preferred

Vegetables

  • 1 onion medium, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables carrots, celery, or bell peppers

Liquids & Sauces

  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14 oz, fire-roasted if desired
  • 0.5 cup beef or chicken broth add ¼ cup more if needed
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Seasonings

  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp cumin or Italian seasoning depending on flavor direction

Starch (for Serving)

  • cooked rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes for serving

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic. Sauté until fragrant and soft, about 3–5 minutes.
  • Add ground beef. Break apart with a spoon and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, diced tomatoes, broth, and your choice of vegetables. Add cumin or Italian seasoning depending on the flavor profile.
  • Let simmer gently for 10–12 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and sauce to thicken. Add more broth if needed.
  • Serve hot over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

To lighten it up, use ground turkey or lentils. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For freezer prep, cool completely before freezing in portions.
