  • ¼ cup water Helps dissolve the cornstarch.

Preparation

  • Cut 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes.
  • Soak bamboo skewers in water for about 30 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt ¼ cup of butter.
  • Add 4 cloves of minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about a minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in ½ cup of honey, ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar, ¼ cup of soy sauce, and ¼ cup of brown sugar.
  • In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and ¼ cup of water, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan and continue cooking until the sauce thickens slightly.

Grilling the Skewers

  • Thread the chicken cubes onto the soaked bamboo skewers.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the skewers for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove the skewers from the grill and brush them with the prepared honey garlic sauce.
  • Let skewers rest before serving.

Notes

These grilled chicken skewers can be paired with rice or salad; serve extra sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
