Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 6 ripe tomatoes chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes optional
  • 1 small bunch fresh basil torn or chopped

Instructions
 

  • Chop the tomatoes and garlic. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and sauté gently until fragrant but not browned.
  • Add the tomatoes to the pan. Stir and let them break down over medium heat.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and chili flakes (if using). Continue cooking 10–15 minutes until thickened slightly.
  • Add the fresh basil, stir to combine, and taste for seasoning. Serve immediately or cool to store.

Notes

Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently on the stove for best flavor.
