Ingredients

Basic Seasoned Chicken Thighs

  • 4 chicken thighs bone-in, skin-on or boneless
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary optional
  • lemon wedges for serving
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
  • Season both sides of the thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add chicken thighs, skin-side down, and sear for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Flip the thighs, add smashed garlic and rosemary to the pan, and transfer the skillet to the oven.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve with lemon wedges and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

These thighs pair perfectly with rice, potatoes, or vegetables. Try variations with different marinades or glazes, like teriyaki or hot honey. For extra crispness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
