  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano herbaceous note
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil herbaceous note
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt enhances flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper spice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce adds moisture and flavor
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for topping
  • to taste Fresh parsley for garnish, visual appeal

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix these ingredients well until everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken patties to the skillet, cooking for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and fully cooked through.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the marinara sauce over the patties. Let it simmer gently.
  • Top each patty with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese. Cover the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with remaining marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy leftovers as quick lunches or a meal prep option.
