  • 4 tbsp Japanese BBQ sauce Use a good quality sauce for best flavor.
  • 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sriracha Adjust amount for spice preference.
  • 6 cloves garlic (freshly minced)
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
  • salt To taste.
  • pepper To taste.

For Serving

  • toasted sesame seeds Optional topping.
  • green onions Optional topping.
  • Japanese BBQ sauce For drizzling.
  • yum yum sauce Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces, ensuring they are fairly uniform in size.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Japanese BBQ sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, minced garlic, ginger, toasted sesame oil, red chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Allow to marinate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven or air fryer.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the marinated chicken pieces onto the baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Cook the chicken until golden brown and crispy, approximately 20-25 minutes, shifting occasionally.
  • Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken adequately, maintain space between pieces for optimal crispiness, and allow resting time post-cooking.
