  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts lean protein
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown, fluffy base
  • 1 tbsp olive oil adds richness
  • 1 tbsp butter enhances flavor and texture
  • 1 small onion, diced aromatic component
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced adds warmth and depth
  • 1 cup chicken broth provides moisture
  • 1 cup heavy cream creates a rich sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream adds creaminess and tang
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella, melts into the sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika adds color and subtle flavor
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning brings earthiness
  • Salt & black pepper to taste seasoning
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside. Add diced onion to the same skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Stir in minced garlic and sauté for another minute, being careful not to let it brown.
  • Pour in chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet to release browned bits. Bring to a simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  • Lower the heat, add heavy cream and sour cream, and stir well. Simmer gently to meld flavors.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, sprinkle with paprika and Italian seasoning, and simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in cooked rice, ensuring it is well-coated with the sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with a crisp salad or crusty bread to soak up the creamy sauce. Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
