  • 2 cups water cooks the rice

Preparation

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook in the skillet until both sides are golden brown and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and stir for an additional minute until aromatic.
  • Stir in cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and heavy cream until a smooth sauce is formed.
  • Incorporate long-grain white rice into the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce.
  • Pour in the water and add dried thyme, mixing to combine all ingredients. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Nestle the cooked chicken back into the skillet, cover, and reduce heat, simmering for about 20–25 minutes.
  • Check if the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Ensure chicken is cooked but not overdone. Stir the rice occasionally during cooking for even absorption. Allow to rest briefly after cooking for best flavor.
