  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts lean protein
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown as a carbohydrate base
  • 1 tbsp olive oil fat for cooking
  • 1 tbsp butter adds richness
  • 1 small onion, diced for flavor
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced aromatic component
  • 1 cup chicken broth adds moisture and flavor
  • 1 cup heavy cream provides creaminess
  • ½ cup sour cream adds tanginess
  • ½ cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella for flavor and texture
  • 1 tsp paprika for mild spice
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning herb blend for flavor
  • Salt & black pepper to taste seasoning
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by heating the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook them for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they reach a golden brown color.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the onions and sauté for another minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, stirring well to combine. Allow it to simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and sour cream until fully blended.
  • Add the shredded cheese, paprika, and Italian seasoning to the mixture.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top, and allow everything to simmer for another few minutes.
  • While the sauce simmers, prepare the cooked rice.
  • Serve the creamy chicken mixture over the warm rice, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the skillet for even cooking. Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
