Ingredients
  

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts Protein source with a mild flavor

Flour Mixture

  • cup flour For body and mild consistency in the sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, shredded For a rich, nutty flavor

Cooking Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil For cooking and moisture
  • 2 ½ cups chicken broth Provides the base for the sauce
  • 1 cube beef bouillon or 1 tsp better than bouillon Enhances broth flavor
  • 1 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce Adds depth and umami
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Contributes a slight sweetness and savory note
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme Earthy flavor
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder Adds warmth
  • 3 tablespoons butter For richness and a silky sauce
  • 10 whole cloves garlic Delivers aromatic flavor
  • 3 tablespoons flour Thickens the sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream Adds creaminess and smooth texture
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional) For added depth of flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings.
  • Mix ⅓ cup of flour and 4 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl.
  • Dredge the seasoned chicken in the flour and cheese mixture.

Cooking

  • Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the coated chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, then set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté 10 whole cloves of garlic until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of flour over the garlic and stir to create a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in 2 ½ cups of chicken broth and allow to simmer until slightly thickened.
  • Add 1 beef bouillon cube, 1 teaspoon of low sodium soy sauce, and stir.
  • Stir in 1 teaspoon of onion powder, ½ teaspoon each of dried thyme and mustard powder.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it, covering the skillet.
  • After a few minutes, stir in ½ cup of heavy cream and mix well.
  • Optional: top with another ½ cup of Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Serve over rice or pasta, and pair with steamed vegetables or a light salad. Let leftovers cool and store in the refrigerator for up to three days.
