Ingredients
  

For the cream cheese filling

  • 8 oz Cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Sugar For sweetness
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract For flavor
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon For flavor

For the pastry

  • 1 sheet Pastry dough Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to the recommended temperature.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth and creamy.
  • Roll out the pastry dough on a floured surface to about a quarter-inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into squares or rectangles.

Filling and Sealing

  • Place a small dollop of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry piece.
  • Fold each pastry over to create a pocket, sealing the edges by crimping with a fork.

Baking

  • Whisk the egg and brush it over the top of each pastry.
  • Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers at room temperature for up to a day, or in the fridge for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage.
