  • 2 cups powdered sugar for sweetness and structure
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter for flavor and richness
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for chocolatey depth
  • 2-4 tablespoons milk for desired consistency
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor enhancement

Preparation

  • Place the softened unsalted butter in a mixing bowl and beat until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually add in the powdered sugar, mixing slowly and then increasing to medium speed until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the creamy peanut butter and beat until fully integrated, about 1-2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, mixing on low speed initially, then increasing to fully combine for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add 2 to 4 tablespoons of milk to achieve the desired consistency, mixing on low speed, and adjust as necessary.
  • Finally, add the vanilla extract and mix on medium speed for one minute until smooth and glossy.

Notes

Store leftover frosting in an airtight container. It can last up to two days at room temperature or about a week in the fridge. For freezing, it can last up to three months.
