Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast shredded
  • 2 cups broccoli florets lightly steamed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Steam broccoli florets until just tender and bright green. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring often, until sauce thickens.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and steamed broccoli. Pour creamy sauce over mixture and stir until well coated.
  • Transfer mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly on top. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the sauce or top with crushed whole grain crackers before baking for a crunchy twist.
