Preparation

  • Begin by browning the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Once the beef is browned, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are translucent.
  • Incorporate the uncooked rice into the skillet, stirring well to mix with the meat and vegetables.
  • Pour in the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup, stirring until everything is combined and soupy.
  • Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and paprika, tasting for balance.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.

Cooking

  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is golden brown.
  • Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving, then sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve alongside a simple green salad or crusty bread. Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave or oven. Adjust seasonings according to your preference.
