Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by cooking the chicken. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the chicken breasts. Let them simmer for about 25 minutes, until they’re cooked through.
  • Once done, remove the chicken and allow it to cool slightly. Then, shred it with two forks or your hands, making sure it’s in bite-sized pieces.
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. While it’s warming up, take a baking pan and spray it with non-stick cooking spray.

Cooking

  • In a medium saucepot over medium-low heat, combine the cubed cream cheese, ranch dressing, hot sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Whisk until smooth.
  • Incorporate the shredded chicken and chopped green onion into the mixture, then stir in 1 cup each of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Top it with the remaining cheese.
  • Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • For a final touch, broil for 2 to 3 minutes to give the top a golden brown color. Watch closely to avoid burning.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature before blending. Adjust heat by varying the amount of hot sauce used. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
