Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds shaved beef/thin sliced Ribeye Tender texture
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, cut into ¼-inch slices Adds crunch and slight sweetness
  • 1 medium onion Provides sweetness and depth of flavor
  • 15 slices provolone cheese Melts well and adds creaminess
  • 3 tbsp olive oil/cooking oil Enhances cooking and adds richness
  • to taste salt For seasoning
  • to taste pepper For seasoning
  • as needed Hoagie rolls (optional) Soft structure
  • 1 jar Cheez Wiz Adds creamy, cheesy flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add olive oil or your preferred cooking oil, allowing it to warm for a moment.
  • Once the oil is heated, add the sliced onion to the skillet. Stir occasionally until they soften and begin to become translucent, which takes around 4-6 minutes.
  • Add the sliced green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until the peppers are tender but still retain some firmness.
  • Introduce the shaved beef to the skillet. Spread it evenly over the vegetables and allow it to sear for a minute before stirring.
  • Season the meat and vegetables with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Layer the provolone cheese slices on top of the mixture. Cover the skillet briefly, allowing the cheese to melt thoroughly.
  • For those who want to take it a step further, split open the hoagie rolls and add some of the cheesesteak filling. Optionally drizzle Cheez Wiz over the top.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and serve your cheesesteaks while they're hot.

Notes

Ensure the skillet is hot enough before adding the ingredients to prevent steaming and allow for a proper sear on the meat. Serve immediately for the best experience.
