Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Pastry Brush

Ingredients

  • 2 apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg beaten, for brushing
  • powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • caramel sauce for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine thinly sliced apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth creases. Cut into four 5×5 inch squares.
  • Spoon apple filling into the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill.
  • Fold squares diagonally into triangles. Press edges to seal and crimp with a fork for a decorative look.
  • Brush tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Place rolls on baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  • Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold before baking for best rise. Thin apple slices cook more evenly. For added depth, include a pinch of nutmeg or crushed walnuts in the filling.
